BREAKING: Supreme Court dismisses as moot lawsuits over whether Donald Trump illegally profited off his presidency by accepting payments from foreign and domestic officials who stayed at the Trump International Hotel.

SCOTUS has made the Emoluments Clause non-justiciable—as it takes so long to bring an action of this sort against a sitting POTUS that as long as he's not reelected the case won't be heard. Why SCOTUS doesn't understand the presidency creates justiciability dangers, I don't know.
Chairman Nadler: "We must not give Donald Trump a pass for inciting a deadly insurrection on our Capitol just a few weeks ago. He must be held accountable. The future of this country is at stake. The House has done its job ... and now the Senate must complete the task."
🚨🆕: In a new ethics complaint, Senator Josh Hawley doubles down on his decision to object to the 2020 election results and asks the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate the conduct of the seven Democratic Senators who first brought the complaint.
What an absolute disgrace @HawleyMO is.
Here's the thing about the reflexive "oh well, Ohio is unwinnable" reaction to the Portman news. A: it's boring B: it's wrong C: I'm not interested in being a member of a party that gives up on places like Ohio or people like Ohioans so we better figure out how to compete there
Trump was not on the ballot in Ohio in 2018.
Sherrod won by 7.
Cordray lost by less than 4.
The breakdown in statewide voting for the statehouse was 50%R-49%D. For Congress, 52-47.
Ds won both Supreme Court races.
No reason that a good D candidate can't win this Senate seat.
How to fix American democracy post-Trump:
-abolish Electoral College
-statehood for DC & Puerto Rico
-expand voting access & pass constitutional right to vote
-restore Voting Rights Act
-expand the court
-overturn Citizens United
