From The Athletic, Brighton U23 boss Simon Rusk is set to become #stockportcounty manager.

The club have given no comment on these reports & plan to comment only when they confirm the appointment of the new manager. This is reportedly set to be in time for Woking on Saturday.

With Mark McGhee reportedly set to follow as an assistant to Simon Rusk.

It seems that Rusk has personally requested MM as part of his backroom staff, and is paired with what I believe to be a desire from within #stockportcounty to see Dave Conlon remain at EP.

Can see why Stockport fans are miffed at the Simon Rusk appointment. Their owners have effectively sacked Mr Stockport & replaced him with an U23s coach of a small Premier League club

Rusk has got the ability to quickly prove the doubters wrong though. Good luck to him 🤞 #BHAFC

For those Stockport supporters disrespecting a highly regarded coach at a Premier League club, you could give him a chance first? Just a thought. #BHAFC

Very good appointment. Done the hard yards coaching in the academy. I done a club visit before Covid last year and watched him take training. Fantastic coach/manager with the number of players who have come through at Brighton. They’ll enjoy his style of play at County!

Simon Rusk leaving us is a huge blow but a good thing as it shows how highly regarded he is. Done a bloody great job with our young players for such a long time. But I wish him all the best at Stockport, will keep an eye out for their results for sure #BHAFC

Cannot thank you enough for your support and advice during my time as a young inexperienced manager.

Good luck in what ever you do next Gaffa.

@StockportCounty We stuck through years of garbage from the club, for Jim to fix it, and if a bunch of extremely well paid individuals want to have a sulk, move them on, and get people in to do the real graft, like we did before the money. This is just going to cause more disruption.

This!

Never even heard of that rule, just let players stand offside, then run back & tackle you? In hindsight I should’ve cleared it, 100%, but didn’t even know that was the case. Nonsense
