Breaking News: The Supreme Court blocked New York’s virus-imposed limits on religious services. Justice Amy Coney Barrett was a decisive vote in the 5-4 ruling.
Don't just blame #AmyCovidBarrett. Blame the churches that are more concerned with their "rights" than they are the love of their neighbor.
@andrew_deford I'm not ACB. You tagged the wrong person.
@RandalRauser Nah, church is essential. Man cannot live on bread alone.
@dandycorns1 All I know is, the ideology of the judge is apparently only a problem when it isn't *my* ideology.
@RandalRauser I think the US Supreme Court has become an example of how ideologies are more valued than interpretation of law. And because these ideologies are more favored, presidents are selecting folks blinded by their ideologies and can’t really do the job. Any one have thoughts on this?
@MikeRathbone86 Yes, meeting together in large groups and singing presents a unique risk.
You missed the entire point: i.e. churches whining about the fact that liquor stores aren't closed rather than following health directives for love of neighbor.
@RandalRauser Is there any evidence that Churchs are super spreader locales? From what I have heard they aren't. Just like schools. Also, the text of the complaint is that the government order placed restrictions on churches that it didn't place on other businesses.
@Faithfully141 Actually, being in a closed space with a large group engaging in behaviours like singing *does* present a unique threat to public health. And that excerpt doesn't address my point: churches concerned with 'their rights' (i.e. "That's not fair!") over *public health*.
