Dear Students & Volunteers of Lives For Literacy,
Today is #WorldAIDSday, an international event commemorated every year on December 1st. People around the world unite to show support for people living with HIV and to remember those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses. +
On this #WorldAIDSDay, I still work to comprehend the large number of folks, mainly queer, lost to the willful negligence of the US federal govt’s inaction on HIV/AIDS.
A generation of future elders gone in a couple of decades. We’ve come far and have much further to go.
Each year, on 1 December, the world commemorates #WorldAIDSDay. World AIDS Day remains as relevant today as it’s always been, reminding people and governments that HIV has not gone away. There is still a critical need for increased awareness of the impact of HIV on people’s lives
How can we keep fighting #HIV successfully during the #COVID19 pandemic? @Winnie_Byanyima, Executive Director @UNAIDS, told us at #GHLS20 how she has been inspired by stories of community members coming together to ensure HIV-positive neighbors get treatment. #WorldAIDSDay

On #WorldAIDSDay, we are thinking of the millions who have lost their lives to AIDS & the millions more living with HIV/AIDS today.
We’ve made tremendous progress in treating this disease, but we must do more.
Today, we recommit ourselves to ending this epidemic once & for all.
As we celebrate the achievements in HIV prevention on #WorldAIDSDay, it is important to remember that individuals living with HIV—as well as those who are at risk of it—experience higher rates of mental health problems and substance misuse.
24 hours to go! Tune in to @sohoradio on Tues 1 Dec from 12 noon (GMT), where @clarelynchred and I will be co-hosting the #WorldAIDSDayHour. Our guests are @tristanjbarber, @SDoughtyMP, @deborahagold, @chrisohanlon_ and @JustJuno1! @NAT_AIDS_Trust @Positively_UK #WorldAIDSDay
